My story

"Life is a journey, not a destination."

In order to really live that idea, we do best to adopt an infinite mindset. Even though our life is not without an end, there is no real destination, no one big prize to win in order for  you to win the 'game of life'. There is always the next day, there is always the next goal, the next hobby, the next task to do.

We all have our own journey, we all evolve, learn and adapt every day even if we don't always realise it ourselves.
I am not the same person I was when I was 20 years old and that is a really good thing. That person would not serve me in the situation I am today, but that was probably a good person to be then and there.

Many years ago, my brother-in-law died in an accident: he was a very sporty and energetic guy and was cycling to work when a car lost control, swirled to the other side and hit him. He died on the spot.
That awoke something inside of me: I did not wanted to wait anymore to live the life I wanted. I wanted to wake up every day and know that I had a great day ahead of me with challenges and passion. I wanted to set myself goals and attain them now instead of 'later'
'Later' is a very dangerous word, all to often it becomes a synonym to 'Never'.

I travelled to many amazing countries, soaking up the culture, the wonders of nature, from spending half a year in South East Asia to driving around in Southern Africa or camping in the national parks of the US.

I have been a passionate scuba diver, making some 650 dives in some of the most beautiful places on this planet, meeting the most interesting people.
I did every certification I could get trained on myself and attained the status of instructor in two different federations. Meanwhile training students, sharing with them the amazing world that exists under water.

For over a decade I was involved in technical training in telecommunications, where I covered a range of technologies and platforms, which brought me in front of thousands of people in dozens of countries. It's an indescribable feeling of fulfilment to help people move forward with their job, to see that moment when comprehension kicks in and they really get it.

I had the great fortune of working as the Business Development Manager for a cutting edge telecom solution for the Enterprise market, called Passive Optical LAN. It was a very challenging position as the market was non-existing and I built up an entire network of partners and customers. I approached my connections always from a win-win point of view: I wanted to bring real value to the customer or the partner.
In fact, I became so passionate about the benefits and applications of this solution that I continued working as a self-employed POL consultant to this day.
I write about my passion here: https://poldigitaltransformation.blogspot.com/

One of the most amazing chapters in my own evolution was doing my diploma of Life Coaching at The Life Coaching College. It was like everything that I had learned, read, talked about, experienced, all come together. The tools like NLP, Hypnosis, eDISC are truly life-changing. I applied it all to my own life as well and I benefit from it every day.

Through all I did, there were certain elements that always are present:
- meet people and improve the quality of their lives
- honest, trusting connections
- taking control of my own life and living a life with purpose
- be grateful for the possibilities I have taken in life and the experiences that came out of them

The most beautiful experience however came when we decided to start a family. There is nothing quite like having this little life that is totally dependent on you. In my daughter I see so much possibilities, a bright future, just waiting to be written. And it give me the opportunity every day to be the very person I would love to see her grow into.

Today, I want to share all I have learned with others. It is my dream that others can live a life where they get up in the morning with energy and jump out of bed to tackle the day.

If you will allow me, I would be honoured to be a guide on your journey.
